Team USA 4th of July Ryder Cup Power Rankings
- Scottie Scheffler – Guy has been as dominate as they come even with some subpar putting… could be scary good if the flat stick wakes up.
- Brooks Koepka – Mr. Primetime up for the biggest tournaments and finishes at the top of every leaderboard. A must have on a team that is going to have a lot of turnover from last Ryder Cup.
- Wyndham Clark – Coming off the US Open victory and been playing well all season long. Top 3 in eagles made on the season, pair him with a steady Eddy in the fourball format and he will be fun to watch.
- Xander Schauffele – 28 Consecutive cuts made and a top 10 putter of the golf ball. Seems like a great team guy and someone that all the players want to be paired with.
- Patrick Cantley – Guy can hoop, but Jebus is he slow! Imagine a Brooks / Cantlay pairing in foursomes!
- Keegan Bradley – His stats say that his season has been very average, which it has been… but trending up with the win at the Travellers.
- Max Homa – 2 Wins in ’23 season, but recent form is sliding a bit with 2 missed cuts in his last 3 starts. Lock to make the team and would like to see him return to form down the stretch.
- Collin Morikawa – Bit of an up and down season for Morikawa with 5 MC’s in 20 events, although he has made the cut in all the majors and players championship… you want this guy on your team any time you are playing overseas or in a big event.
- Rickie Fowler – Finally!!! Big win for Big Dick Rick which has catapulted him into the top 12 for the points ranking and even higher based upon recent form in my top 12. All around good buddy and anyone on this team would be happy to be paired with.
- Jordan Spieth – With yet another tumultuous year with 5 MC’s in 17 events his form isn’t compeltely back just yet. Yet another great team guy and has been in his fair share of big moments, add to that an Open Championship and we are more than likely to see this guy on the team come time to tee it off in Rome.
- Cameron Young – Guy who just mashes the ball and had a runner up finish at the WGC match play. Overall season has been meh, after a stellar 2022. Depending upon how the Europeans decide to set up the course it will probably stifle his biggest weapon and expose his Achilles heal in the flat stick.
- Sam Burns – Unfortunately for Sam 2023 has been a rough stretch with 5 MC’s in 20 events…. however the one bright spot is his win in the WGC match play… could that be enough to solidify his spot?
- Justin Thomas – Recent form plus, being outside the top 12 in points standings and having no wins in 2023 may be a recipe for JT to be on the outside looking in. With a couple of good showings coming up in the Scottish and British opens as well as the FedexCup that could change his fortunes… luckily for JT captain Johnson has 6 picks and I find it tough, although right now I see him on the outside looking in, to keep a guy with JT’s track record at the Ryder Cup off this team.
